This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to perform basic first aid in the event of an emergency. You will learn how to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies in the home or workplace using basic life support measures. You will be equipped to provide an initial response to an emergency in line
with practised actions and Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines and/or state or territory regulations, legislation and policies and accepted industry guidelines.
This course will provide you with an understanding of how to apply immediate care of an injured or suddenly sick casualty be that first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until more advanced medical help arrives.
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This course is suitable for those students requiring workplace first aid skills. This course was previously called Level 1 first aid.
